Bahr Co-Founds Noncredit Research Collaborative With Nation’s Leading Researchers

The new Noncredit Research Collaborative is a hub for research and analysis on noncredit education in postsecondary institutions, bringing together researchers with deep experience in noncredit education. Dr. Peter Riley Bahr is a founding co-director of the Collaborative and will be bringing his expertise to this talented team from across the nation.

Millions of students enroll in community college noncredit education every year, but we know very little about them and whether their educational goals are being achieved. Establishing the Noncredit Research Collaborative is the most important advancement to date in understanding and thereby better serving these students.
— Peter Bahr, Ph.D.

The Collaborative will partner with states and colleges across the country to build the noncredit data infrastructure and conduct methodologically rigorous research on noncredit programs and student outcomes to inform policy and practice, working directly with institutional and state leaders to build urgently needed data and analytic capacity. A central focus of this work is the establishment of a common definitional language for current and future data collection efforts on noncredit education.
